Sarah Notch serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Access and Engagement at the San Mateo County Office of Education, and brings her expertise to statewide education policy as a State Board-appointed Commissioner on the California Department of Education's Advisory Commission on Special Education. Her extensive background in special education spans over twenty years as a special education teacher, Autism Specialist, school site administrator, and district administrator, during which she has championed transformative initiatives that reshape how schools approach inclusive education. A passionate advocate for breaking down barriers to access, Sarah is known for her exceptional ability to forge meaningful partnerships, develop strategic solutions to complex challenges, and create innovative program expansions that ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive educational environment that centers their rightful presence.
