About me
Diana Casanova serves as the Administrator of the CALPADS Operations Office in the Educational Data Management Division (EDMD). Prior to coming to EDMD from the Analysis, Measurement and Accountability Reporting Division (AMARD) where she served as the Administrator of the Data Access and Strategy Office (DASO). In this role, she managed internal data requests, federal reporting requirements, and worked collaboratively with colleagues to align data collections, documentation, and to support research and reporting.
Diana joined the CDE in May 2022 as the Foster Youth Data Liaison, serving as the lead data steward for the foster youth data collection, reporting, research, and evaluation for the CDE. During her tenure she worked closely with agency partners at the CDSS to strengthen the data sharing relationship between CDSS and the CDE and improve the foster youth match process. Prior to coming to the CDE, Diana pursued a graduate degree in education where she gained research and teaching experience. Her background also includes roles in non-profit fundraising and photography. Diana received her PhD and MA in Education from UC Berkeley, and holds a BS in Journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
